My name is Anna, and I was born in Brooklyn, NY, to parents who immigrated from China. I attended Springfield College to complete my degree and later stayed in the area to pursue a Master of Education in Art Therapy and Counseling. Throughout my professional journey, I have worked with a diverse range of client populations, from children as young as 6 to older adults. I am passionate about cultural humility and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds, embracing every opportunity.
I have used art with individuals in nursing homes, supported students in school-based art classrooms, and most recently provided outpatient services for two years to individuals within the DDS population. I have experience developing and facilitating therapeutic groups, including art-based groups for adults and therapeutic groups for children with ADHD. I use creative approaches to support self-expression, connection, and personal growth.
In my clinical work, I often incorporate CBT and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, especially with clients who demonstrate resilience and a desire to focus on their future. Creativity remains at the heart of my practice, as I integrate art into sessions to foster expression and healing. I am also an advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community and have experience working with this population.
