Em Bartone, MSW

A smiling person with short, dark hair, wearing a textured black shirt, standing in front of a green leafy background.

Em Bartone, MSW, is a graduate of the Smith College School for Social Work offering in-person and telehealth therapy for individuals, families, and couples/throuples/etc of all ages who are seeking personal growth and greater understanding of themselves. Their clinical style is eclectic and personalized, drawing inspiration from psychodynamics, person-centered therapy, expressive arts therapy, play therapy, parts work, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

Em values meaningful personal connection, and they show up as an authentic, genuine human in sessions. They offer a supportive, warm environment to work through life’s challenges while developing skills to manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, grief, and more.

Em approaches their work from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, liberatory framework, empowering clients as the experts on their own lives and experiences. They strive to create a therapeutic space that is trauma-informed, collaborative, gender-affirming, body-neutral, and sex/kink/poly-positive.

Because of their undergraduate education in wildlife conservation and Indigenous studies, their practice is informed by the use of nature as a teacher and a healing space. Themes of cycles of change, interconnectedness, groundedness, and mindfulness shape their work.
