Giovanni Tizio, MHC Intern

Giovanni Tizio is currently pursuing a Master’s of Clinical Mental Health Counselling from Northwestern University. As a counsellor-in-training, Giovanni is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for his clients, focusing on their holistic well-being and emphasizing prevention and inner strength. Giovanni practices an integrative approach including Person-Centered Modalities, Adlerian, and Solution-Focused approaches.
Giovanni’s background is rooted in sexual minority and young adulthood experiences. He brings sensitivity and empathy to issues of identity, safety, and belonging. He believes each life experience is unique and special to that individual, making the person’s needs unique as well along their mental health journey.
Giovanni is passionate about the power of understanding, storytelling, and connection to offer long-term resiliency. He is committed to accompanying his clients on their journeys as they overcome life’s challenges, finding their voices and power along the way.
